چکیده
Abstract TIG welded marine grade AA5083-F/ER5356 and AA5083-F/ER5356+Sc joints were friction stir processed with a pin less FSP tool, to explore the impact of process parameters on mechanical metallurgical characteristics weldments enhance weld strength. The microstructure welds was observed using optical SEM subjected tests like toughness, tensile, microhardness fractography, evaluate strength weld. A microstructural improvement in FSPed joints, an average grain size 4 μ m for 2 Sc added welds, comparison TIG-welded which showed 12 8 when added. ultimate tensile (UTS) higher than base metal, values 288 MPa 331 joints. joint’s elongation range decreased 7.1% but marked up 20.5%. There maximum hardness compared giving value 90 HV1, while showing 95 HV1. study revealed that improved properties significantly.

Texture development in friction stir welds
The shear textures that develop in friction stir welds are reviewed and discussed. In all the materials examined, including face centred cubic (fcc), body centred cubic (bcc) and hexagonal close-packed (hcp) materials, friction stir welding produces a predominant shear texture with the close-packed directions aligned with the shear direction (SD) and the close-packed plane normal perpendicular ...
متن کاملFriction stir welding and processing
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a relatively new solid-state joining process. This joining technique is energy efficient, environment friendly, and versatile. In particular, it can be used to join high-strength aerospace aluminum alloys and other metallic alloys that are hard to weld by conventional fusion welding. FSW is considered to be the most significant development in metal joining in a de...
متن کاملTorque based weld power model for friction stir welding
For decades, models have been developed for predicting the size of the weld nugget and heat affected zones in fusion welded structures. The basis for these models is the welding heat input, which is fairly well understood for most arc welding processes. However, this traditional approach is not as straightforward for friction stir welding (FSW). To date, no definitive relationship exists to qua...
متن کاملEffect of Post-weld Heat Treatment on Joint Properties of Dissimilar Friction Stir Welded AA2024 and AA7075 Aluminum Alloys
In present study, the effect of heat treatment after friction stir welding dissimilar welds T6-7075 and T4-2024 aluminum alloys were investigated. Friction stir welding was performed at a constant rotation speed of 1140 rpm and welding speed 32 mm/min. After welding samples are taken under various heat treatment processes at different aging temperature and time period. Microstructural observati...
